A titanium root and a zirconia crown that look, feel and bite like your own tooth. Placed by an implantologist, planned on a 3D CBCT scan.
A dental implant is a titanium root placed where your tooth used to be, finished with a zirconia crown made to match its neighbours. Done properly it looks like a tooth, bites like a tooth and is cleaned like a tooth. Done properly is the whole point, so here is exactly how we do it.
Every case starts with a CBCT scan, a 3D image that shows the height and width of your bone, the position of nerves and sinuses, and exactly where the implant should sit. The surgery is planned on that scan before you fly, which is why the placement itself usually takes 20 to 30 minutes under local anaesthetic. Most patients tell us afterwards that the injection was the worst part.
We place two implant systems: Straumann, the Swiss brand with the longest published research record in implant dentistry, and Oxy Implants, an Italian system we have placed for years with results we are happy to stand behind. Both carry a 10 year written guarantee on the implant.
Before surgery we take a small blood sample and spin it into PRF and CGF, concentrated membranes of your own growth factors that go into the implant site. They speed up soft tissue healing and help the bone knit tightly around the titanium. Combined with gentle surgical technique, this is why most of our patients describe the days after placement as mild swelling and paracetamol, not a week on the sofa.
Instruments are sterilised in a Euronda E9 NEXT autoclave with a logged, printed cycle for every load. That is not a marketing line, it is how infection control should work, and you are welcome to ask to see the log.
Titanium needs time to fuse with bone, and no honest clinic compresses that. Your first trip takes three to four days: final checks on the plan, the placement itself, and a review before you fly home. Three to four months later you come back for another three to four days: we scan the healed implant with the iTero Lumina, the zirconia crown is made, and the fit is checked under the Zumax operating microscope before it is fixed in place.
You are never left toothless in between. Where the gap shows, you wear a temporary tooth through the healing months.
Prices start at £560 per tooth, and that includes the implant, the abutment and the zirconia crown. The same combination is commonly quoted at £2,000 to £2,800 in UK private practice. Even after two return flights to Bucharest, a single implant usually costs less than half the UK figure, and the gap widens with every additional tooth.
If you have been told you do not have enough bone, send us your X-ray anyway. Grafting, PRF and modern implant designs solve more of those cases than most people expect, and if implants genuinely are not right for you, we will put that in writing too.
